6:00 PM – 8:00 PM CDT

Our study of Scripture is greatly enhanced by our understanding of the Ancient world. A central component to understanding the Ancient Near East is to read and analyze the documents of those times. Ancient documents are like windows to peer through and gain a better understanding of the people, times, places, and thoughts of those who lived during the times the Bible was written. In the Primary Source Studies course beginning on October 8th, we will journey into the literary world of the various ancient texts that are essential background reading for both the Old and New Testaments. Such texts include ancient Egyptian, Babylonian, and Mesopotamian documents, pseudepigraphal, apocryphal, and other 2nd Temple Judaism documents, and Greco-Roman documents.

This webinar course, "Primary Source Studies", is a four week webinar led by Dr. Johnathan Pritchett that starts October 8, 2015, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Central Standard Daylight Time. It will meet every week for four successive weeks, with two additional weeks to complete the readings and assignments.
